Before you I was lost
A brittle leaf tossed
Among the dirt and dust
Battered and frayed

The day that I blew your way
My surface crackled brown
You took me in from the cold
And bathed me in patient waters

Against my will, emotion grew
Green life lead to new blooms
And now I find my roots stretching
To plant themselves, tangled in you

In your warmth I flourish
Hungry for more, pushing upwards
Happier now, than ever before
You saved me, for you I bloom
