Iron (wo)Man

maxresdefault

I try to forge myself in strength

A steel spine carrying life’s heavy load
Titanium nerves deflecting life’s sadness

A tungsten heart protecting from life’s hurts
And an iron will persevering through life’s trials

I am tall, I am strong
My defenses are impenetrable

I forge my way through this life
A show of metallurgy at it’s finest

Ignore the bowing of that steel
As time weighs heavier with each step

Disregard splitting seams of titanium
As stabs of worry discover their way in

I’ll deny that within that tungsten shield
Lies battle wounds refusing to seal

Despite the failings of this showy armor
There is one thing, that still holds true

An iron will, that pushes forward
